September 2003. Relocating to The Woodlands from Wisconsin they fell in love with the well-defined craftsman style architecture including front porches. They also loved the interior attention to detail like arched doorways, rounded corners, 42″ wood kitchen cabinets and granite counter tops. When they first moved here their expectations for having a close-knit neighborhood were low. They never expected this aesthetically pleasing community to be so appealing emotionally to its residents.  They love their neighbors and the sense of community on the street. Many of the cul-de-sacs have become social “meccas” for its residents with barbeques, ladies bunko nights or just gathering for a glass of wine.

here we felt like we were way back in the outskirts of The Woodlands. In the last 5 years The Woodlands has developed around us with Ashbury Square centrally located to activities, restaurants, health clubs, doctors, and the like.”  When asked what the downsides are to living in Ashbury Square, Linda and Jan noted that open parking is difficult to find in the neighborhood due to the design of the streets. However, they did note that residents are always willing to volunteer the use of their driveways when one is in need of space.

When asked where they would move if they had to choose where else in The Woodlands they would like to live, both Jan Brahms and Linda and Gordon Craig stated that they have no desire to move to anywhere else in The Woodlands. Ashbury Square satisfies all of their needs and life style.
